How Do You Broil Filet Mignon In The Oven?

“Hi. I’m Sue Walker, and I’m going to show you how to broil filet mignon in the oven. You will need: a broiling pan, an oven, tongs, and cooking spray. The ingredients are: filet mignon, salt and freshly ground pepper, and olive oil. The word filet mignon is actually a French word meaning “exquisite fillet.” The key to cooking a good filet is using high heat. Preheat the oven temperature to broil, and make sure the oven rack is near the top. The steak should be at room temperature. Rub the steaks with salt and freshly ground pepper. Spray the broiler pan with cooking spray. Now brush the steaks with olive oil. Put the steaks on the broiler pan and place in the oven. Broil the steaks until desired doneness, making sure to flip the steaks over with the tongs halfway through the cooking process. Cook two to three minutes on each side for rare, four to five minutes on each side for medium, or six to seven minutes on each side for well done. Remove from the oven and serve hot.
