How Do You Buff Scratches Out Of A Hardwood Floor Finish?

0

A hardwood floor is a good asset to any home, it adds beauty and style to most decors. However, scratches on the wood can’t always be avoided and are bound to happen at one point or another. Knowing a few tricks can help remove them and make the floor look like new again. Buff away minor scratches with a steel wool pad. Make sure to restrict the buffing to the area of the scratch. Use fine sandpaper grits as well. Start with a fine grit and then move on to an extra fine one as the scratch buffs away. Sand or buff only in line with the grain of the wood. Use a sanding screen or a scouring pad dipped in mineral spirits if your wood floor finish is made with polyurethane as it will be difficult to sand. Use paste wax if it will adhere to the wood finish. Apply a little to the scratch and softly buff it with fine sanding paper when it is dry. Paste wax is available in colors that match most wood floors. You can also use the paste wax if sanding or buffing alone does not remove the scratch
