Building a cinderblock barbecue fireplace will be a rewarding experience and welcome addition to any backyard. You can use it for cooking fancy outdoor meals or just for roasting marshmallows with the kids. Dig out an 8-inch square trench at a size of your choosing. The dimensions can be whatever you wish, but it is best to conform to a multiple of the cinder blocks’ dimensions. Lay the first row of cinder blocks inside the trench. Check to be sure that they are flush with the surface of the ground. Level them off by either putting sand beneath them if they are too low, or by digging out more dirt if they sit too high.
