How Do You Build A Plastic Model Airplane?
Model building is a rewarding and relaxing hobby enjoyed by people of all skill levels and ages. Model representations of cars and boats are often built, but airplane model building also offers a historical aspect as many models of the early planes of war are available. Remove the parts from the box and compare them to the direction sheet to ensure there are no missing pieces. Separate the pieces by color and paint. To make painting the smaller parts easier, leave them attached to the frames. The directions sheet should have painting instructions. Hold the wheels with a toothpick to paint them. Trim the pieces before gluing to remove the casting sprues. A small craft knife such as an X-Acto works well for this. Assemble your model in the order called out in the direction sheet. Use the smallest amount of glue possible. The point of a round toothpick makes a good applicator. Use only a high quality model cement or crazy glue.
