With the right materials and tools, you can build a simple, functional workbench even if you lack basic carpentry skills. Follow these instructions and you’ll have a sturdy foundation for your next project. Use a saw to cut two pieces of wood of the same size. These will be used to make the frame to support the legs of the workbench. Each frame is made from four pieces of wood. The first two are cut longer and the remaining two are cut shorter so that they fit in between each other. Cut wood to make four legs, each at the same height. Measure them so that the height of your finished workbench will be agreeable to you. You can use either 2-by-4s or 4-by-4s, depending on your size preference.
