Wood box shelving can be useful for storing oddly shaped items, such as blankets and vases. Additionally, the shape and size of wood box shelves make them versatile; wood boxes can be stacked in numerous patterns and moved with ease if the layout of room furniture should change. Using high-density particle board to build the stackable shelves helps to ensure they will last and be attractive for many years. The wide surfaces of the sides of shelves make them ideal for use in children's rooms, where they can be painted and decorated. Use 16 sheets of high-density particle board for this project; each sheet should be approximately 2 feet by 2 feet to allow you to cut it to size. When completed, you will have four stackable wood boxes for shelving. Measure out a square on each board that measures 18 inches on all sides. Mark the perimeter with chalk or pencil.
