How Do You Build Wooden Planter Boxes?
Planter boxes add both beauty and function to your patio or deck. You can build your own wooden planter boxes to any size you choose. Build wooden planter boxes out of treated or rot resistant wood. Make sure you buy the appropriate screws for the type of wood you are using. To make a medium-sized planter box, cut 12 pieces of 2×4 wood about 18-inches long. Cut 8 pieces of 2×4 wood 24-inches long. Lay three of the 18-inch long pieces of wood on the ground side-by-side and place 2 24-inch long pieces on either end. Line up the top edges. Measure the distance across all of the pieces. Cut two pieces of 2×4 3 to 4 inches shorter than this distance. Lay one of the 2×4’s across the pieces level with the top. Lay the other one across the pieces level with the bottom edge of the shorter boards. Screw the pieces together. Repeat this step with all four sides.
