How Do You Burn A Data Disk Using Windows Media Player?

Windows Media Player allows you to burn data to disk using CDs or DVDs. Data disks can only be read by other computers, which makes them useful for transferring files from one machine to another. Although you have the option of burning a CD or DVD, there is no difference between the data that the two formats will produce. DVDs can hold much more data, but they may take longer to burn. If you have only a small amount of data that you wish to transfer, consider using a CD. Insert a blank CD or DVD into your computer’s disk drive. Start Windows Media Player. Click the arrow on the bottom of the “Burn” button and click “Burn data CD or DVD.” Drag and drop the files you want to include on the data disk into the “List” pane below the Burn button. Because this is a data disk, the order in which files are listed is irrelevant. Click the “Start Burn” button. The files will be burned one at a time.
