Buying and selling used cars is much the same all over the country, with the exception of market value for geographical area for a particular model. When it comes to buying a used car, no two are the same. Everything must be considered in order to purchase and repair the car in such a manner as to remain in an equitable position as opposed to owning it for more than it is worth on the open market. Average mileage is 13,000 miles per year. Anything over that decreases the value and correspondingly increases with less, but at a lower percentage. Test drive the car and take note of any deficiency. Test everything in the car for function--air conditioning, power steering, brakes, radio, windows, seats and any other equipment. Take note of all deficiencies. Check the body of the car and under the hood for damage. Check the shock and struts by bouncing the car. It should stop bouncing immediately if they are good.
