How Do You Care For An Epoxy Floor?

Caring for an epoxy floor requires additional precautions than caring for a floor with a different finish, but it isn't a difficult process. Since epoxy floors have an extra thick finish, they are typically quite durable, but in order to maintain this hardy surface a few simple steps are needed. Sweep or dry mop any dust, dirt or debris from your epoxy floor frequently. Even though epoxy is a durable material, small bits of dirt can become embedded in the epoxy if not removed properly and frequently. Mix an all-purpose cleaning product such as Pine-Sol or Mr. Clean and mix it according to manufacturer's directions in a bucket with warm (never hot) water. Scrub the floor as needed with a sponge mop or string mop. Rinse the floor thoroughly after washing. This is imperative to cleaning an epoxy floor. Empty the bucket of soapy water and rinse it clean.
