How Do You Care For Belly Dance Costumes?
Belly dancing is a way to get in touch with your cultural heritage, perform artistic movement in front of an audience and get a good workout. Part of the allure of belly dancing is the elaborate costume worn, but these heavily beaded and jeweled costumes can fall apart at the dry cleaners. Follow these steps to ensure that your belly dance costume will last you for many years of performances. Place 1/4 cap of the detergent into a sink full of warm water and gently stir mix. Pour a cap full of detergent and dip the toothbrush into it. Scrub any stains with the toothbrush, gently. Dip the costume into the soapy water three or four times. Empty the sink and refill with clean water. Dip the costume into the clean water five or six times. Squeeze the costume to rid it of excess water, but do not wring it out. Lay the costume flat on a drying rack until completely dried.
