Purple fountain grass is an ornamental plant that grows into a thick mound. It flowers from July to the fall months, and grows to a height of 2-3 feet. Purple fountain grass grows in Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Louisiana, Tennessee, and on some of the Hawaiian islands. Besides being attractive, this plant is extremely easy to care for. Water purple fountain grass only during periods of drought once it is established. Then water it on a regular basis to keep it from drying out. Fertilize this ornamental plant in the spring after it has begun to grow again, if you choose.
