How Do You Carve Faces Into A Pumpkin?
Autumn leaves are falling, and it’s time to decorate for Halloween. No front porch is complete without a Jack-o’-Lantern smiling at your neighbors and trick-or-treaters. What is a simple way to carve a pumpkin and make this traditional Halloween decoration? Read on to find out! Cover your table with newspaper or some type of plastic covering. In my family, we use both. First we cut apart trash bags, and use masking tape to secure them to the table. Then we cover the garbage bags with newspaper. We also put some newspaper on the floor. Carving pumpkins can be messy! Use a permanent marker to draw a face on your pumpkin. This will be the face you carve. You can also draw a design around the stem of the pumpkin, which you will cut. This becomes your lid. Cut on the line around the stem and take off the top of the pumpkin. Here’s the messy part. Use the spoon and/or your hands to take out all the guts and seeds from the pumpkin.
