How Do You Change A Dryer Heating Coil?
The cost of replacing a large appliance can drastically impact any household budget. Finding a way to repair the appliance may be as simple as obtaining a few parts and investing a little bit of your time. If your dryer heating coil goes, you can change it. Determine that your heating coil is off by allowing the dryer to run while set on the highest temperature for approximately 1 to 5 minutes. This should be long enough to indicate that the dryer heating coil is not working because no heat will be generated from the dryer. Unplug the dryer to investigate the problem. Using a flat head screwdriver, pry up the dryer top. Locate and detach the ground wire, if applicable. Locate two additional wires that are attached to the door switch at the top right hand corner. Remove the dryer top. Look for two Phillips head bolts on the inside, top right and left hand sides of the front of the dryer attachment.
