Replacing the bulb in your Hitachi brand TV is easy, and is a much cheaper repair than replacing the entire set. You only need some simple tools and a few minutes of your day. Access the lamp enclosure by removing the metal cage that covers the lamp. Pull the cage out and away from the plastic enclosure and slide it off. You will now have clear access to the old bulb and the screws holding it in place. Loosen and remove the screw holding the power plug for the bulb in place. Remove the screw on each side of the bulb, and pull the old lamp from the enclosure. Disconnect the power plug, and dispose of the lamp so it does not get mixed up the replacement bulb.
