Replacing the treadmill belt is inevitable if it is being used regularly. There are many manufacturers that sell parts and belts online as well as in retail fitness stores. Depending on the model of the Horizon treadmill, belts range from $100 to $200. Materials, size and durability affect the price of a replacement belt. Unplug the treadmill to avoid shock or static discharge. Leaving the treadmill plugged in while performing maintenance is a safety hazard. Remove the side rails of the treadmill. Use a Phillips head screwdriver to remove the three or four screws in each rail. Some models use Allen head screws.
