How Do You Change Front Fork Oil In A Motorcycle?

0

Changing the fork oil on your motorcycle is necessary for your safety and for other reasons. If your forks don’t work or stop working while you are riding down the road, you will be at risk of having an accident. The fork oil allows the front forks to move up and down so they can absorb most of the vibrations and bumping that you encounter while riding your motorcycle. Without fresh fork oil lubricating the inside of the fork, the forks will not work properly. Place the motorcycle on a bike stand to get the front wheel off the ground. Use the wrench to remove the bolt on the side of the wheel axle. Pull the front wheel away from the forks. Using the wrench, remove the caps on the top of the fork. Using Allen wrenches, remove the clamp bolts on the fork and slide the fork out of the clamps. Place the fork top-side down in the drain container and allow the oil to drain. Fill each fork with the recommended oil and amount found in the owner’s manual. Slide the fork back into the fork clamp
