The term LED stands for light-emitting diode. LED Christmas lights provide a decorative touch to the outdoors and on Christmas trees while utilizing less electricity than traditional lights. You may want to change the color of your LED Christmas lights to match your other decorations or just to give your lights a new look. Changing the LED color is easily done with a few materials. Purchase the color bulbs that you would like your Christmas lights to be. These bulbs are available at most department stores that sell LED Christmas lights. New LED bulbs need to be the same voltage as the old bulbs in order for them to work. Gently grasp the first LED light’s casing, just under the bulb, with a pair of pliers and pull up. The casing is generally the color of the strand of lights, so if the strand is green, so is the casing. Repeat this process for each bulb. Place a bulb into each socket of the strand and push down.
