When there is no heat coming from your dryer, you probably have a faulty heating element. Whirlpool appliance owners should know how to change a heating element on a Whirlpool dryer. Access the heating element through the toe panel or the rear panel, depending upon your model. Write down the model number of your dryer, and take it with you to purchase a replacement heating element. Most appliance repair shops will have the element in stock, or they can order one for you. Unplug the Whirlpool dryer from the dryer outlet. Insert a putty knife between the bottom of the front panel and the top of the toe panel. Press the retaining clips with the blade of the putty knife to release the toe panel. Pull the toe panel away from the dryer. The heating can that the heating element sits in is located on the lower right-hand side of the Whirlpool dryer.
