When you travel, it is important for your legal name to match the name that is listed on your passport and other travel documents. In the United Kingdom, if you have changed your name, you will need to apply to amend your passport to reflect the name change. Download the Newly Wed and Civil Partner form if you will be changing your name upon your marriage or civil partnership and will be traveling outside of the UK immediately following the ceremony (see Resources section below).
