Changing the window motor on a Dodge Stratus is not complicated, although the directions should be followed because this is a spring-assisted unit. The coil spring that helps the window motor lift the window is very strong, and without the proper procedure, injury can result. The window regulator is the spring-loaded scissors type with a motor that drives a large gear for the movement of the window. Remove the door panel by removing the two screws in the armrest with the Phillips screwdriver. Remove the Phillips screw in front of the inside door handle. Place the common screwdriver in between the door panel and door frame. Use it to pry out the trim fasteners holding the door panel on. Lift the bottom of the door panel out and lift up at the same time to unhook it from the top ledge. Remove the electrical connector from the master window switch on the door panel.
