How Do You Check A Battery For An Electric Golf Cart?
PreparationLift the seat of a golf cart to locate the battery. They are usually a bank of six 6-volt batteries. Remove the cables from the batteries. Check all six batteries on a monthly basis.TestingAttach the positive and negative leads of a multimeter to the positive and negative posts on the battery. Turn the multimeter to the 20-volt scale setting. The battery should read 6 volts on the multimeter display. Do this for each battery. Repair or replace any faulty battery.ReconnectReconnect the wiring for each battery. Clean the tops of the batteries if they need it. Close the seat and turn on the golf cart to test if it works properly.
