After many uses, even a ceramic vase can assume too much wear and tear. Water residue, stains and build up of leftover flower parts can leave the prettiest ceramic vase looking gross. Clean a ceramic vase gently using water and basic kitchen ingredients. Rinse the vase out with warm water to remove loose build up and debris. Use an old toothbrush or other small soft brush to get inside the vase and scrape away dirt and grime. Use a soft brush and scrape gently so you don’t remove any of the ceramic surface. Rinse the vase again with warm water. Make a solution of baking soda, ammonia, vinegar and water. Mix it in a large empty jug to keep for future jobs. Fill the vase with the solution, and let it sit for at least 60 minutes. For stubborn stains make a thick paste with baking soda and water and use your brush to put it directly on the tough spots.
