It is time to clean your floors. You plug in your Dyson vacuum and begin to roll over the carpet. The machine makes a deep humming noise, has a feeling of resistance, and you can barely push it forward. There is very little suction. You shut it off quickly and notice that the area has the same level of grime. Unplug your machine and get ready to inspect it. It is time for a cleaning. Turn vacuum upside down, and lay it on linoleum floor or pieces of newspaper. Check roller for hair, fiber and anything that impedes the suction process. Carefully pull on any material that is clogging the vacuum or wrapped around the roller. Use sharp, pointed scissors to cut any hair or fiber that is wrapped tightly in the area. Be careful to clear the brushes without damaging them. Continue to clear all debris from the mechanism. Use a small brush to get into crevasses if needed.
