• Get your hermit crab out of its shell. Either take their old dirty shell when they switch into cleaner shells themselves, or remove them yourself. Turn your crab upside down in water, and it will come out of its shell. Remove the crab from the water so he does not drown. • Warm some dechlorinated water. • Pour the water into and over the shell. • Dry out the shell with a paper towel. Be sure not to leave any scraps of paper in the shell. Return the shell to your crab.
