Special care needs to be taken when cleaning a figerglass bathtub. Abrasives can scratch the tub. Bleach products can cause discoloration. Follow these steps to safely and effectively clean a stained textured fiberglass bathtub. Wet the bathtub floor thoroughly, then turn off the running water. Sprinkle the tub with an even layer of borax. While it does not need to be a thick layer, it should cover the tub floor. Dampen the nylon brush. Scrub the bathtub in several different directions. Go toward the textured pattern, then against the textured pattern, then in circles. Pay special attention to more heavily soiled areas. Add small amounts of water as needed. Run the water into the tub and continue scrubbing and rinsing the borax until it is all rinsed away. If the tub still has stained areas, apply more Borax and repeat steps.
