Cleaning an air intake manifold is not that difficult, and anyone can do it. Use a quality engine cleaner treatment that can be added to your gas tank first. Then remove the air cleaner or air intake hose and spray the intake cleaner into the air intake hose while the car is running. Disconnect the battery cables from the battery, using the box end wrenches. Drain the cooling system by removing the drain plug from the bottom passenger side of the vehicle with one of the box end wrenches.
