How Do You Clean An Electric Baseboard Heater?
Electric baseboards can be found in many homes, providing an easy way to heat a room. Each room typically comes with its own thermostat, allowing you to heat each room of the home to your liking. Since the baseboards normally go unused during warm seasons of the year, that time period can cause dirt to build up in and around the electric baseboard heater, requiring it to be properly cleaned prior to its first use of the winter season. This will prevent dust from burning as the baseboard heats up, which can cause to a foul odor in the room until the dirt burns off. Vacuum the top, sides and underside of the baseboard using a small vacuum hose attachment. This will remove all of the loose dirt around the baseboard. Remove the front panel of the baseboard, which typically pops off of the unit. Clean the inside fins of the baseboard, where dirt can often build up, with the vacuum.
