How Do You Clean Baked-On Food From Cookie Sheets?

0

Cookie sheets are useful for baking much more than just cookies in the oven–including breads, desserts and even meats. When you finish baking, you may have a mess of baked food remaining on the cookie sheets. Clean this baked-on food from cookie sheets using one or more soaking and scraping methods to restore your cookie sheets to their former condition. Remove as much baked-on food as possible with the rubber-scraping tool. Run the cookie sheet under warm water to rinse the food away. Add two or three squirts of dishwashing detergent to the cookie sheet and fill it with warm water to soak the cookie sheet. Allow the cookie sheet to soak for 30 minutes and then pour out the water. Scrub at the food with the rubber-scraping tool or the mesh scrubber to remove all remaining food particles. Wash the cookie sheet a final time with dishwashing detergent and the dishcloth. Rinse the sheet and dry it with the dishtowel.
