Accidents happen! At some point in time, we all forget to watch something that in cooking on top of the stove or if the oven. Life gets in the way, the phone rings, the baby is crying, one of the kids needs help with their homework, someone is at the door, the list goes on and on. Before you know it, the smoke alarm is screeching, dinner is burned and so are your pots and pans. Don’t worry, it happens. Put the fire out, if there is one and allow the pots and pans to cool to room temperature before you attempt to clean them. If you shove them under cold running water, your cookware can crack and if there is any hot grease or oil, it can spatter which can cause a fire or burn you. Fill the pot or pan with cool water and about 1/2 of a cup of salt. Be sure the pot has cooled to room temperature before starting this. Allow the pot to soak overnight with the salt water. Put the pot or pan on the stove with the salt water still in it. Keep a low flame on the pot to bring the water to a full
