How Do You Clean Jetted Tub Lines?
Whirlpool tubs are an excellent way to soothe sore, aching muscles, but they can also be a breeding ground for bacteria. When stagnant water sits in your whirlpool tub lines for an extended period of time, bacteria can develop. That bacteria is released into the tub the next time you use the jets, which can lead to an infection of your hair follicles called folliculitis. To ensure that your whirlpool tub lines do not develop bacteria, it’s important to flush them regularly. Turn all of the jets in your tub clockwise as far as they will go. Close the drain on your whirlpool tub and fill the tub with warm water until the highest jet is completely submerged. Add 2 tsp. powdered automatic dishwasher detergent and 20 oz. bleach to the tub water, and turn on the jets.
