How to Clean Protected Leather & Vinyl. Suitable for most Leather Car Seats & Leather Furniture. This guide is not suitable for Aniline or Nubuck Leather. To see which type of leather you have, make the surface wet, if the water sits on the surface and the leather doesn’t change colour this is Protected Leather. If the water soaks in and the leather goes dark this is either Aniline or Nubuck Leather. • To clean leather, spray leather cleaner directly onto surface and then agitate with a soft bristled brush. Its best to work in small areas and not just spray all over first as the leather cleaner will start removing dirt quickly and it is possible that it may leave streaks where the cleaning solution runs down the item. The brush is used to remove the dirt from the grain or cracks in the leather.
