How Do You Clean & Seal Terrazzo Floors?

0

Terrazzo floors are made from chips of marble in concrete. The resulting floor is beautiful, durable and fairly easy to care for. Keeping your terrazzo floor clean and sealed is the best way to prevent problems such as dullness from scratching or stains. Ultimately, cleaning a terrazzo floor is a simple project, but sealing one requires quite a bit more work. Squirt the wax stripper on the floor according to packaging directions. Strip the wax from your floor using the floor scrubbing machine. Mop the floor with clean water until all of the wax stripper residue is removed. Let the floor dry completely. Apply the floor sealer per manufacturer’s recommendations. One thin coat is typical. Some sealers are applied using a clean dry mop, while some are applied using a paint roller or brush. When you are choosing a floor sealant, be sure to consider ease of application. Allow the sealant to dry at least overnight. Clean your finished floor regularly to prevent scratching and staining.
