If you have inherited a Rainbow vacuum cleaner and don’t have the manual or you have lost the manual to your vacuum cleaner and don’t remember how to clean the filter, here are the steps… First unplug your Rainbow vacuum cleaner. Do not remove the filter if it is still plugged into an outlet or power source. Remove the upper portion of the vacuum by unclasping the sides and then tip it over on it’s side. The filter will be screwed into the vacuum. Turn the bolt fastener that is holding the filter on counterclockwise. If you can’t do it by hand you may need to get a plier or wrench to unscrew it from the filter. Do this by holding the bolt fastener with the tool and securing the filter with the other hand while you turn. Remove the bolt fastener completely and set it in the empty water basin for safe keeping. Grasp the filter and remove it from the vacuum. It should come off easily once the bolt fastener is removed. You can submerge the filter in a sink of water or run a stream of wat
