How Do You Clean The Laser On A Sony PS2?
The superiority of video gaming continues to improve every year, but a small piece of hair or dust could ruin the whole system. The new slim PS2 allows easy access to the laser for cleaning, but if you own one of the original and large Playstation 2’s, than cleaning the laser becomes a more technical process that could possibly damage the whole system if not done properly. Unplug all of the power and video cables from the PS2. This will prevent any electrical shock from occurring when you open up the PS2 casing. Before you proceed, try to clean the laser using a CD laser cleaner, which is an actual CD used to wipe dust off of the laser. Flip the PS2 upside down to access the correct panel. Look on the bottom of the PS2 for eight little squares. Use your fingernails or a pair of tweezers to flip off the little squares. Set them aside.
