How Do You Clean Window Air Conditioners?

0

While having central air is great, there are some situations in which this isn’t quite possible. There are many homes and businesses that have window air conditioner units. These units need to be cleaned at least once a month when in use to continue working properly and at their peak performance levels. First, ensure you have turned off the power on your air conditioning unit or unplugged it from the wall. Now remove the front panel and vacuum any obvious dirt or debris from and around the inner coils. Remove the filter from your window unit and wash it well with dish washing soap and warm water. You may notice that you’ll need to wash this twice. That is okay. Let the filter air dry completely before replacing in the unit. Clean the outside of the unit by wiping it clear of any leaves, twigs or dirt particles. Use soap and water to clean bird droppings.
