The HP Compaq 6710B computer has a feature known as the BIOS (Basic Input Output System) password that can be used to prevent unauthorized users from loading the operating system and accessing your profile. If you no longer want to use the BIOS password security feature you can clear it out of the system. The BIOS password feature cannot be reached through the operating system itself but instead must be reached through the BIOS menu. Exit any programs or documents that are currently active.
