How Do You Compete In Equestrian Eventing?
Eventing is becoming one of the most popular horse sports in this country. It is also know as horse trials, combined training or a combined test. Eventing began as a test for US Army Calvary hopefuls. In the infancy of the sport, the only horses and riders competing in the Olympics themselves were military members. Local shows and nationally recognized shows should be and most likely will be governed by the same rules. The United States Equestrian Federation puts forth these rules for fairness and safety of all involved. Eventing is the triathlon of horse sports. It requires finesse, strength and stamina. To do well at all three phases takes many hours of practice, so an unyielding commitment to the sport will be your biggest asset.
