How do you connect propane grill to a home propane supply tank instead of a tank?

the closer the home supply tank is to your grilling spot the easier, but you will need a supply line to connect the home supply tank directly to the gas grill with a regulator (all propane regulators regulate same amount) inbetween the tank and the grill. The hardest part will be matching threads, flare threads and pipe threads are whats used for L.P. gas. The size and type of threads is important but you could run into reverse threads. While flare threads are self sealing, any pipe threads will need to be sealed with L.P. rated pipe sealant. Once you are done you will want to test all of your connectsions with gas leak detection. If you have never done anything like this before i would suggest hiring a professional.
