How Do You Control Verticillium Wilt?
Verticillium wilt, known as maple wilt, is a soil-borne fungus that destroys dozens of maple trees yearly. It enters in to a maple tree by way of its roots and travels to the top of the tree, potentially killing a tree in just one season. Olive green streaks can be found below the wilted leaves of an infected tree. If this is found, follow these steps to control verticillium wilt. Fertilize the trees with ammonium sulfate at the initial sign of verticillium wilt. This may help the tree fight the disease. Remove the infected branches immediately, if the fertilizer did not help, so the disease doesn’t spread to the remainder of the tree. This will also control it from spreading to other trees. Take out the tree completely if the disease has spread throughout it. It can quickly spread to the other trees by getting into the soil. Water the trees thoroughly to help them recover. This will, also, help control the spread of the disease by preventing further infection. Prevent the maple trees
