Put the water (amount according to directions on pasta box, for number of servings you want) into the large pot. Add a small spoonful of the Promise spread (very heart healthy and low fat!), or a splash of olive oil to the water, and salt. The spread or oil helps prevent the pasta from clumping together. Bring to boil. When the water boils, add the pasta, (amount according to directions on box), and cover. Bring to a boil again. When it boils, turn the burner to Medium and set a timer for about 11-12 minutes, for Barilla Plus, or whatever length of time your box of pasta recommends. Usually if you want more tender pasta, you can add a minute or two. When the timer goes off, drain the water off the pasta.
