How Do You Cover Parquet Floor With Vinyl Tiles?

0

When I bought this house, the people had put down vinyl tiles over a concrete floor that had epoxy paint on it.They did not stick well. It took us a week trying to get the glue up (unsuccessfully). We ended up using ceramic tiles to cover the mess. In the kitchen we put down Lu an and then linoleum and every time you took a step it sounded like you were walking on bubble wrap.Ended up with laminent in there. Have you considered just putting vinyl flooring right over the parquet or is it too uneven? You might be able to get a floor sander to even it out some and then put the flooring down. I really don’t think the tiles are the way to go unless you are going to buy the better grade stuff. We put that down in the garage but the glue kept oozing up and made a mess. It finally stopped and is really a nice floor now. As you can see I have had extensive floor problems and feel like an expert now.LOL With your problem,I would go with Vinyl flooring or ceramic if the boards are not loose.
