Create a multiplication house to help students build multiplication skill in a fun way. Assign the students a certain number for multiplication. When I did this with my class I varied the numbers for the students. I also had a finished project to show the students what was expected. First the students draw and cut out a house filling it in with 13 windows. They then cut three sides of the window so it will flap open. On the front door they will write the number they are multiplying by. I gave the example of “The Crazy Eights Live Here” On each of the windows will be the numbers 0 through 12. Now they will glue the house onto the other piece of construction paper. Make sure they don’t glue down their window flaps. On the inside of the window they will write the answer to the multiplication problem.
