How Do You Create Makeup Burn Scars?

Burns to the skin, whether they are mild or severe, have a unique look to them that sets them apart from other types of injuries, presenting challenges to a special effects makeup designer more experienced with cuts and lacerations. However, with the right materials and approach, creating makeup burn scars is no more difficult than any other injury makeup, and can be achieved using many ingredients found in your kitchen. Create a liquid latex ridge. For a small burn, create a line of liquid latex using a toothpick. For larger scars, soak some toilet paper in liquid latex and shape it into a ridge on the skin using your fingers. Let the latex dry for several minutes until it is firm to the touch. Coat the latex ridge with foundation makeup. Use a makeup sponge to blot over the latex and blend the color into the skin. Dust with makeup powder. Give the burn ridge a light pink outline.
