Cutting porcelain tiles manually is cheaper than renting or purchasing an electric tile saw. If you are only tiling a small place, and the lines that need to be cut are all straight, investing in a manual tile cutter is a less-expensive option. Cutting porcelain tiles by hand is not hard, but practice on a few tiles before starting the job seriously. Measure and mark the porcelain tile where it needs to be cut. Place the tile inside the manual tile cutter, and align the marked position with the scoring blade. Grip the manual tile cutter handle firmly and apply even pressure while sliding the scoring wheel forward and across the surface of the porcelain tile. Place the breaking foot of the tile cutter over the outer edge of the porcelain tile. Apply even pressure on the handle, and push down until the porcelain tile cracks along the marked scored line.  more
