How Do You Decorate A Drop Ceiling With Fluorescent Lights?
A drop ceiling can be a decorating challenge because it is typically low and may be composed of unattractive mineral fiber tile. Fluorescent lights add to the challenge. Their brightness can be overwhelming and a harsh accent for interior décor. However, the unique nature of drop ceilings does present an opportunity for creative interior design solutions, such as a bright paint makeover, shading the fluorescent lights or replacing the tile. Choose a warm color of latex or gloss paint that will enhance and complement the space and diffuse the harsh fluorescent light. Try metallic paints to create a tin appearance for an industrial-style office space. Remove the drop ceiling tile. Push upward on the tile to release it from the frame. Then twist and pull it down, using both hands. If you can’t remove the tile, use masking tape to surround the area and protect the edges from paint spillover.
