Any time you open a file or navigate to a web page, your Acer laptop keeps a record. Anyone who accesses your computer could potentially view those history files and discover what documents you have been viewing or websites you have been visiting. If you want to keep your computer habits private, delete the history files so that no one else can view your recently visited websites or program files. Right-click the Start menu bar at the bottom of the desktop and select "Properties." Navigate to the "Start Menu" tab. Remove the check mark from the check box labeled "Store and display a list of recently opened programs." Remove the check mark from the check box labeled "Store and display a list of recently opened files." Click "Apply" and then click "OK" to save the changes and remove the stored history of the recent files you have used.
