New computers are shipped with the pre-installed Windows Vista operating system, and often with a trial version of Microsoft Office. Microsoft Office Standard 2007 includes four basic programs: Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. Unless the program is purchased after a 60-day trial, the software will stop working. Removing it from the hard drive can free up valuable space. Log in as an administrator in Windows Vista. Click “Start” at the left bottom corner and open “Control Panel.” Click “Uninstall a program” under “Programs.” Scroll down the program list and find “Microsoft Office Standard 2007.” Click on this entry and select “Uninstall.” Click “OK” to confirm.
