Windows Mobile 5.0 is the operating system used in Windows pocket PCs and smartphones. It has many of the same functions and design features as Windows for computers but in a much more compact form designed specifically for small device interfaces. The process of executing tasks in Windows Mobile 5.0 is slightly different than traditional Windows as well. If you want to delete a program icon in Windows Mobile 5.0, you must navigate through a different series of steps than that of deleting icons in traditional Windows. Tap “Start,” “Programs” and then “File Explorer.” Click “My Device,” “Windows,” “Start Menu” and then “Programs.” Press and hold the program file icon that you wish to delete. Tap “Delete” from the drop-down menu that appears in order to delete the program file icon.
