How Do You Design A Latch Hook Rug?
Making your own designs for latch hook rugs is easier than you may think. With a few basic tools, you can transform your favorite picture into a latch-hooked pillow or rug. The possibilities are endless and the designs can be worked up quickly. Kids and adults alike can design their own latch hook rugs. Choose a photo or design and canvas for the project. Using a copy machine to enlarge or reduce the design or sketch the design on paper, sizing it to fit the canvas. Stretch the canvas out on a table and tape it in place leaving one side untaped. (The canvas must be flat in order to transfer the design.) Measure from side to side and top to bottom, using the ruler, and mark the center of the canvas. Measure your design the same way and mark its center. Slide the design under the canvas and place the center mark on the design under the center mark on the canvas.
